Certified Careers Institute

Certified Careers Institute was founded in July 1983 in Salt Lake City, Utah.   CCIs original mission was to provide hands-on computer training for Computer Programmers, Technicians, and Data Processors.  

To keep up with the continuing growth within the Information Technology (IT) Industry, CCI opened a branch campus in Ogden in October 1988. Increasing demands of the IT Industry, and the growing student population made it necessary for both campuses to relocate to their current facilities in Salt Lake City and Clearfield.

CCIs Salt Lake City Campus has been accredited since June 1988 and the Clearfield Campus followed closely behind in June 1990.   CCI currently holds accreditation with the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).  Effective March 17, 1999, CCI was purchased by Landmark Education Services, Inc (LES).  In June 2007, CCI was purchased by Education Futures Group.

With the downturn in the IT economy in 2001 and 2002, CCI made the decision to phase-out and close its self-paced Information Technology programs beginning in November 2002.    CCI began offering two allied health programs Medical Assisting and Medical Office Specialist in October 2002.  These two programs follow a traditional, instructor-led, lecture-lab delivery format.   In April 2005, CCI began offering a Massage Therapy program at its Clearfield Campus.  In October 2005, the Salt Lake City Campus began offering a Dental Assisting Program.  In October 2006, the Clearfield Campus began offering the Dental Assisting program.  The Salt Lake City Campus launched the Massage Therapy program in November of 2006.
