ABOUT COMPUTER CAREER CENTER
Computer Career Center (www.computercareercenter.com) was established in El Paso, Texas, on October 14, 1985. The school was first located at the El Paso Community College, Rio Grande Campus, to provide training to JTPA (Job Training Partnership Act) students through a joint effort with the El Paso Community College and the Upper Rio Grande Private Industry Council (URGPIC). L & W Chayes Enterprises, Inc., d/b/a/ Computer Career Center, purchased Control Data Multiskill Center, El Paso branch, on November 1, 1987. Computer Career Center became the successor of interest to existing contracts from Control Data Multiskill Center in El Paso. On April 1, 1993, Computer Career Center’s main campus relocated to its present location at 6101 Montana, El Paso, Texas 79925. The main campus provides occupational education to Southwest Texas, primarily El Paso County and its surrounding towns, with an approximate population of 725,000.
Computer Career Center offers specialized vocational training and occupational education. Program graduates are awarded certificates, diplomas, or associate degrees. Curricula are reviewed and developed through a Governing Board and Advisory Board whose members represent business, industry, and education. A Financial Aid Department, a Placement Department, and an Admissions Department supplement the Academic Department to help students achieve their career goals.
Computer Career Center is chartered by the State of Texas as a private education corporation and approved by the Texas Workforce Commission Career Schools and Veterans’ Education. The Associate of Applied Science Degrees are approved and regulated by The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
Computer Career Center is institutionally accredited by the Council on Occupational Education and has programmatic accreditation with the Council of Accreditation Allied Health Education Programs/American Association of Medical Assistants (CAAHEP/AAMA and the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools.
The Vocational Nurse Program training began in October, 2004 and is regulated by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.
Computer Career Center opened an extension campus at 7731 North Loop Drive, El Paso, Texas 79915 on March 7, 2005. The Computer Career Center Extension campus teaches programs in allied health.
Computer Career Center opened a branch campus in Las Cruces, NM in April 2007.
